Pyramid Solitaire

Play Pyramid Solitaire online with smooth controls, undo, hints and custom card/table themes. Remove uncovered pairs that add up to 13 (Kings can be removed alone) and clear the full pyramid to win. Pyramid Solitaire is not as popular as similar games, such as Klondike and Spider. It will make you use your brain, but at the same time it allows you to relax and have fun.

Quick Guide

Goal
Remove all cards from the pyramid by pairing uncovered cards that add up to 13.
Pairing Cards
Only uncovered cards can be removed. Valid pairs include A + Q, 2 + J, 3 + 10, 4 + 9, 5 + 8, and 6 + 7.
Removing Kings
Kings are worth 13 and can be removed on their own without pairing.
Stock & Waste Pile
Draw cards from the stockpile to the waste pile when no useful move is available in the pyramid.
Waste Pile
Only the top card of the waste pile can be used in a pair.
Winning the Game
You win when every card in the pyramid has been removed.

Pyramid Solitaire uses a 28-card pyramid and a draw pile. Only uncovered cards can be paired. Use the waste pile strategically and plan your moves to avoid blocking low-value pairs.

Pyramid Solitaire is not as popular as similar games, such as Klondike and Spider. It will make you use your brain, but at the same time it allows you to relax and have fun.

The title of the game, i.e. Pyramid, speaks for itself. Thus, there is a deck of 52 cards on the playing field, which form a pyramid. 28 cards are placed face up in the pyramid. The remaining cards are in the stock pile and are gradually moved to the waste pile during the game.

You have 2 minutes 30 seconds to solve the task. You may think this time isn't quite enough, but the skilled player can remove all cards from the field in a few minutes.

How to play?

The principle of the game is the following: you have to remove pairs of cards from the playing field, whose total value is 13. For example, when you click or tap 9 and 4 (no matter what color), they are immediately removed from the field, freeing space. If everything is clear for cards from 2 to 10, then the ace, jack, queen and king often cause difficulties when you try to determine their card value. Thus, the ace is one, the jack is 11, the queen is 12, and the king is 13.

The pyramid is cleared from the bottom row. The player gradually gets to the top of it, and as soon as the last cards are removed, the player wins the game.

On the playing field, there is a stock/waste pile. Use it when there are no available pairs in the pyramid.

Helpful hints

Even experienced players say that it is not so easy to win Pyramid Solitaire because you are given very little time, i.e. 2.5 minutes. How can you increase your odds of winning?

  • Count as quickly as possible, remove everything you see immediately;
  • Remove the kings first, because they are the easiest to see;
  • Begin to remove the cards from the bottom row, gradually moving to the top of the pyramid;
  • Use the stock/waste pile only in extreme cases; otherwise it will be difficult for you to understand the game in the future.

These guidelines will significantly increase your odds of winning.
